As the very first design in the commemorative Sherlock Holmes collection, the “Original” is a tribute to the timeless work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Peterson utilized their signature “05” Bell/Calabash shape, upscaling its proportions to create a bolder, more muscular silhouette that defines the iconic “Holmesian” look.

While Doyle’s stories often featured straight pipes, the curved Calabash became synonymous with Sherlock Holmes thanks to actor William Gillette. Gillette chose a bent pipe to deliver his lines more clearly on stage, unknowingly setting the standard for the detective’s image for decades to come. Peterson’s Original celebrates this tradition with its deep chamber and sweeping, curvaceous form.

Finished in a sophisticated Dark Smooth stain, this pipe highlights the natural beauty of the briar grain. It is elegantly accented by a broad Sterling Silver band, hand-etched with the collection’s logo—a testament to Peterson’s legendary silversmithing heritage.
